Hello Emily,

I wonder if you could help with a complaint I’ve received from a resident about 76 - 78 Preston Street ta the cocktail rooms.

I first spoke to the resident in September and we agreed a “wait and see” approach to the noise but they contacted me recently to say the noise has continued and they are concerned by the noise levels and by windows being left open.

I could see that you have had some recent involvement with this premises. Would you be able to advise on the questions raised by Myles in their most recent email below.

Kind Regards

Hi ,

Thanks so much.

I sent my version of the noise diary In the email above. Hope that is sufficient.

All we really want is to know what is acceptable or what is allowed for a venue like this? Are they allowed to play music into the night? What time should they close the doors when they are playing music inside?

The previous club used to play music with the doors open but they were very careful and at 10pm they had to close their doors - which meant we always knew we'd be able to sleep on the weekends.

I'd like to get this all clarified before the summer when it will be possible for them to have the doors open music blaring again. If there were some guidelines for them to operate within then that would be great.
